So Christmas is well and truly over - sob - and I decided it might be nice to show a few things I received over the holidays. I'm not bragging in any way, I just love reading these types of posts as it makes my wish list longer and gives me ideas as to what to buy. I think it also shows what type of person you are and get to know them a little better. I was spoilt this year and I feel so blessed to get the presents I did.
I had been lusting over this Avon palette for ages and thought it was a normal eyeshadow palette but I was so surprised when I opened it to discover it had two levels - the first level for eyeshadow and the bottom level for lips and cheeks! The colours are so beautiful and pigmented. I love it so much that I don't want to put it away! My parents did say that had major trouble with the Avon website, the names were different and the prices weren't the same so I'm so glad they managed to get it in the end!
I also received my most favourite perfume ever - Hollister (I'm unsure as to what it's called). I've loved this perfume since forever and hadn't had it in a while so I was extremely happy when I opened it! I also got two sets of Real Techniques brushes and the powder and blusher brush - I love these so much! (Blog post on these coming soon)
I love all things shabby chic and had been thinking about getting one of these block calendars for ages, my parents surprised me with it and I was so shocked! I think it's lovely when loved ones surprises you with things they know you like - it's the thought that counts! I think it's so cute and looks great in my room.
I've heard so many good things about the Hunger Games books and films that it made me really want to read them! Every year my parents get me some books for me to read (last year it was Lord of the Rings) as they know I love reading so I can't wait to get stuck into these! I also got a ton of ELF makeup from my auntie so I've got a load of stuff to review and try (I'm thinking of doing a week's worth of blog posts all about ELF I've got that much stuff!)
As I'm a cheerleader I got some new cheerleading shoes and I actually love them! I know they're not the prettiest shoes ever but I can just imagine it all together now with my uniform! What I also like about these is that you can change the colours of the triangles, its so cute!
So that is a few of my favourite things I received this Christmas! I also got a new camera which is amazing and I love it. The change in quality of my photos is crazy! I'm so grateful for what I got. Hope you all had a great Christmas! What did you receive this Christmas?

Nails have never been my thing, they're too short and stubby and most of the time I forget (read too lazy) to re-paint them. I used to love painting my nails but seeing as I bite them (horrible habit I know) I just kind of gave up with them. However, most recently I found Rimmel's Space Dust in the Shade Aurora nail polish and I have fallen back in love with all things nails.
When I first saw this I thought it was going to be too opaque to wear on it's own but after applying found that in fact it was very thick and didn't need too many coats. After two coats (which is how many coats I apply to every nail polish) it looked like I had applied multiple coats. It has a pretty pink undercoat with silver and pink bits of glitter. Now I know I have teensy nails, but I was worried when I saw the shape of the brush. It was short and very thick, I thought it was going to be difficult to apply. However, this was what I liked most about this product. It was so easy to apply and the brush filled my nails making the application process quicker. Aside from this, it also dried very quickly and I loved the finish it had.
I need to get more colours from this Space Dust range, I love it!

Christmas is officially under 2 weeks away and in these 2 weeks I like to cram as many Christmas activities as possible. Unfortunately it hasn't snowed yet so a few from my list is a bit redundant for now, but a girl can dream. Additionally, I still haven't completed my Christmas shopping as of yet so it's going to be a busy next few weeks!
*the ones which are in italics have already been done (with some matching pictures above!)
So lets get into it:
- Decorate the Christmas tree
- Watch ELF & Santa Claus (my two favourite Christmas movies!)
- Play in the snow (a child at heart)
- Build a mini snowman
- Get all my Christmas shopping done
- Attend a Christmas party (I attended the Company VIP Christmas Party)
- Have a Christmas cocktail (Santa Baby, Frankie & Bennys = The bomb)
- Decorate my room with fairy lights and tinsel
- Visit House of Fraser and John Lewis (they have the best Christmas decorations)
- Bake something (Gingerbread, Mince Pies etc)
- Read a Christmas book (I Heart Christmas is gonna get read soon!)
- Finish all my assignments so I can have a stress-free Christmas (Does creating this list count as procrastinating?)
- Have a Miley Cyrus Wrecking Ball Bauble (LOL)
- Eat tons of chocolate
- Have a Christmas Hot Chocolate (With cream, syrup, marshmallows - NEEDS to be done!)
- Buy a Christmas jumper (Primark definitely have the best ones)
- Go ice-skating
- Write out my Christmas cards
- Bring out the festive jug and bowl! (from The Range - how adorable are these!?)
So as you can see I still have a ton to cross off!
What's on your Christmas Checklist?

Red lips is definitely the way to go this Christmas. I've chosen some that range from pinky-reds to plum tones but all perfect for this season, and also extremely affordable. First we have ELF's 'Fearless', which is a more pinky-red, it lasts a relatively long time and is moisturising on the lips. We also have One Direction for MUA Kiss You in 'Be Mine', this is a deep red. I absolutely love this lipstick because on the nub there are little 'X's and 'O's which makes it look so cute.
When I browsed the Seventeen counter at Boots the other day, I found this beautiful deep plum-red lipstick which is just what I've been looking for in these colder winter months. This Seventeen Stay Pout in Rule Breaker is easy to apply and doesn't smudge when eating/drinking. Then of course, I needed to have a Kate Moss lipstick in this post. This is Kate Moss for Rimmel in Shade 22, and is a bright matte red. Again this is quite easy to apply to the lips and lasts for agessss. Last but not least this Collection 2000 Deluxe lipstick in Prohibition. A stunning deep red with a hint of a plum undertone. Glides onto the lips simply and doesn't tend to smudge. It's moisturising but with a matte finish.
Those are my top 5 reds for the holidays, what are yours?

So I've shown you the foundation, now it's time for powder. Bourjois Healthy Balance Compact Powder has took over my #1 spot in my favourite powders. It's light on the skin and fits my skin shade perfectly. It doesn't leave my skin dry. Which is such a bonus. Where it's been extremely cold lately, my skin has been so dry but this doesn't cling onto any of the little bits of horrible dry skin I've been sporting. Sounds so attractive, doesn't it? (If anyone knows of a skincare product I can use daily to get rid of this, please let me know!)
When I saw Amelia from Liana Beauty bragging about this baby over on her blog, I knew I just had to get my mitts on it! It sets foundation without taking away any glow and it isn't overly mattifying. When it comes to the Healthy Mix Foundation, I found it hard to choose a shade to match my skin tone, but with this, it matches perfectly and stays on for roughly 3 hours (after this I tend to get a bit shiny, so I keep it in my bag just incase). However, having said this, if you wear both together you get the most perfect glow and dewy finish to your skin. Just make sure you keep the powder on you!

MUA Undress Me Too Palette, O.P.I Christmas Mini Nail Set, Colour Unlimited Beauty Tools Set, Sleek Blush By 3 Lace, Benefit Limited Edition Go Tropical Set
Another blog post about Christmas buys today, but this time the budget version. I'm not the type of person that has a ton of money to spend on Christmas presents, and I know a lot of other people don't either (heck, things are so much money these days!) So, I decided to put together a little post for things under £20 that people are going to love!
First up, the MUA Undress Me Too Palette, I've been having my eye on this one for quite some time now and it has been put on my Christmas list in the hope that someone buys it for me. I know it is only around the £4 mark, but in December we are banned from buying anything what-so-ever because it may be bought for us! This reminds me hugely of the Naked palettes and can't wait to (hopefully) have my hands on it this Christmas!
Next is this adorable O.P.I Mini Nail Set, which has some super cute nail polishes which are the perfect shades for the Holidays! There are a mix of glitters and regular shine polishes in this set, which makes it the perfect little gift.
I am constantly looking at make-up brushes and beauty sets. I'm a sucker for gift sets. I just can't help myself! Which is why this Colour Unlimited Beauty Tool Set is perfect for something just starting to get into make-up and it's the perfect starter beauty tool set. It's extremely cheap and it's just a little somethin' somethin' to add to the stocking!
Sleek are constantly hitting the nail on the head when it comes to blushers. I'm obsessed and want every single one. This Sleek Blush by 3 Lace is one that I have been lusting over. The colours are of a very coral-orange and super pretty! I already own the Rose Gold on it's own but cannot get enough of it, so theres no harm in wanting it in a palette, is there?
Last but certainly not least is this Benefit Limited Edition Go Tropical Set, if you're a sucker like me when it comes to mini beauty products then this is the perfect gift set for you (you have to treat yourself every now and then, right?) Or, I guess, you could buy it for someone else too. Like a family member or a friend. It comes in this adorable little box, why would you not want this!?

Anna Sui ASOS Exclusive Minnie Mouse Make Up Set -1,Ciate Mini Mani Month Gift set, Benefit Groovy Kind A Love Gift set, Lancome Blush, Too Faced Matte Eyeshadow Collection, Nars Cosmetics Crime of Passion Face Kit
So, seeing as Christmas is now just under a month away(!!!!) I thought I'd make up a little Christmas Beauty Gift Guide, this one being the more expensive one and another one on the way being on the cheaper side.
This Minnie Mouse make up set is to die for. It's a pity really, as I absolutely adore the eyeshadow in Set no. 2 but you can't mix and match unfortunately. However, having said that, I do love all of this cute gift set. I mean, will you just LOOK at that lipstick!
This little Ciate Mini gift set, it also just as cute. The colours are so varied and all individually pretty! Next is this (also very adorable) Benefit gift set, with little travel sized pieces of Benefits products. This particular gift set would be fantastic for a younger teen who is just starting to get involved with make-up and will be a perfect little starter kit.
I chose this Lancome Blush because it was the prettiest rose colour and the perfect shade for these colder mornings. It comes with a handy mirror and little brush so it's perfect for people who are on the go constantly.
Now, eyeshadow is slowly creeping up to be my most purchased product. Having bought loads of new eyeshadow palettes to tell you you guys about! This one has certainly caught my eye, it's the Too Faced Matte Eyeshadow palette, and the reason I chose this is because they are all matte. I prefer matte eyeshadows to the shimmer. I'm one of those gals that prefer matte for an everyday look and a little shimmer for them important big nights out.
Nars at the moment has been the talk of the town and I don't blame everyone for blogging about it! Lately they have been bringing out such beautiful products and this Crime of Passion face kit is one of them. Better hurry up though, they've been selling out quick!

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation
Oh my gosh. This foundation is now my favourite. It has knocked MACs' Studio Fix Foundation off the top of my list and has rightfully taken its place. If you haven't tried it, I seriously recommend.
Firstly, it is so light and soft on the skin it's unreal. It feels like you're not even wearing any foundation. It's so easy to blend into your skin, I use a brush, but would be easy to blend in with your fingers as well. It's cheap as well, for one thing. It's only £9.99 from Superdrug and Boots, but it's worth so much more. When it comes to foundations, I feel like Bourjois do it oh-so good, they hit the nail on the head every time.
One little thing I would say though, is the shades. I don't feel like there is enough variety in the shades that they've got. I've got the shade Vanilla 52 and I feel like it's a little too dark for me, I feel like I could of got away with a slightly lighter shade but I didn't want to get the lighter shade incase it made me look too pale.
Every bloggers review that I've read says about the scent. And to be honest, I couldn't smell anything. But I think it's best for me because I dislike foundations that smell! It's quite a dewy finish, which I absolutely love. I've wanted to get a nice glow on my face for a while now and it gives you a lovely natural glow, whilst not leaving your skin looking too shiny or oily. It's the perfect mix for a foundation and I couldn't recommend it enough!
Have you tried any Bourjois foundations before?

Another day, another nail post. Some may call if boring but I love everything to do with nails. I love painting them, adding glitter and creating patterns. Even though I am a crazy nail lady, I do bite my nails (shame on me). At the moment, I'm beginning to stop (yay!), I don't even know why I bite them, it makes me annoyed if anything that I've bitten a bit off!
Anyway.. Onto the nails.
These Primark nails amaze me, not only do they look good but they feel good on my nails too. I've had fake nails before where they feel really fake. These ones fit comfortably on your nails and the glue is strong which allows the nails to last for quite a long time. Yes, they are only £1, which is totally amazing. How could a product of such high standard cost only £1!? (Will definitely be buying more!)
I decided on these two in particular, because I loved the pattern and the colour of these ones shown on my nails just reminded me of such a nice fall/winter colour. Unlike some fake nails, these nails are quite thin, something I quite like. I don't like it when I have a fake nail that is quite thick. These also come reaaaally long, which if you find uncomfortable, you can easily trim them down.
Overall, so pleased I made the purchase, they last quite a while, but if you wanted to take them off, they're easy to take off. The glue is strong and the nails are sturdy and look quite expensive even though they are completely inexpensive!
Well done Primark, you've done a good job.

Lately I have been loving Forever 21, I love that American Style they have at the moment and they are on point. I think Forever 21 have been quite cheap lately too, which makes wanting so many of their stuff much easier for me and my bank balance!
This first dress is totally American-esque and I think it's totally cute. I love the colour and the speckle print. The second dress I actually decided to buy, it reminded me of something similar to cheerleading. This last dress I really liked for Fall, the pattern and the colour is perfect and the pinafore style is adorable.
Again, more slogans on all of these tops.. I'm slogan obsessed at the moment! Hitting the monochrome trend bang on. I like that they're all oversized and look super comfy.
More American-style clothing, I think it's nice that Forever 21 are going along the lines of American college style. Again I bought the middle one, its nice and comfy and the material is thick and cosy.
I have been looking for a maroon hat for quite some time now, I think they jazz up an outfit quite a lot and can make a dull outfit look quite nice. Backpacks are so simple for college/school/uni. They carry a lot more than any other bags and are easier to carry.
I've been searching high and low for some nice boots for A/W '13 and I think these two will look lovely with any outfit. Normally I just wear some flats but recently I've found that look to be quite boring. I love these little ballet flats though, with the leopard print at the front I think they'll look cute with a pair of pattern tights.
What do you think of these Forever 21 finds?
16 October 2013
Thought I'd just do a quick little blog post on a really cute outfit for a date night. I've heard that red is the best colour to wear out on a date, it's a really flattering colour and in my opinion, quite a sexy one. Once again, for shoes, its a stiletto. I just find that the simple heels do it for me! If there is detail on the bag and on the necklace then you should keep the shoes simple. Plus, there are cut-outs on the dress. I just find that red and black go well together and compliment each other.
I know I haven't blogged in forever, but I have literally have been swept off my feet with the amount of events and work I've been doing lately! Anyway, I hope you enjoy this post, I've been wanting to post it for a while but haven't had the time!
5 October 2013
I know, I know.. I haven't blogged in a very long time. Don't hate me, guys. I have just been super busy with university starting back up again and sorting out my courses that I just haven't had enough time to blog! I've missed it, to be honest, I love blogging. I just haven't had the time.
First up, these heels. How amazing? I've wanted a pair like this for forever now, and just haven't found the perfect pair (until now of course). I love the simplicity of them.
Polkadots are probably my favourite thing to wear (as a matter of fact I'm wearing a polkadot blouse as I type this very post! ..oops), I find them a easy and simple thing to style and they are just so cute. I like the colours of this dress and the type of polkadot.
Chanel make-up is beautiful. I don't actually own anything Chanel (boo-hoo) but I lust over it on a regular basis. The colour of this lipstick is perfect for Fall and I've always wished for a powder from Chanel. A girl can dream I suppose.
I've heard a lot about these lip balms and I've wanted one for a long time, recently I found them on Amazon for a very good price. I do love the shape of them too, they look so adorable!

Sleek blush in Rose Gold - 4.49 - Superdrug
Sleek has been on my 'must-have' list for as long as I can remember now. My cousin regularly buys beautiful shades of blush and as soon as she showed me this one, I knew I just had to get my hands on it. It's a beautiful shimmering pink that comes off quite coral on the skin with glitters of gold. Lets just take a moment to appreciate this blush.
I dunno why, but like most bloggers I have a favourite type of make-up and for me it's blusher. Followed closely by lipsticks (as you may have noticed if you've been reading my blog from the start!) I just can't get enough if them, coral, pink, red, you name it - I'd buy it!
This blush is probably my new favourite as I just love the shimmer it gives my cheeks. It's super pigmented and lasts quite a long time. If you don't want a lot of shimmer then you just apply a tiny bit to your face for a more natural glow. But to be honest I think this is quite a natural looking blush anyway, the colour is beautiful and there's only a little bit of glitter in it. I think it's quite small in packaging but it's only 4.49 which is good value for money (I think anyway). You can definitely say that this I love it!

availiable at boots, superdrug
wearing peach kiss on my lips
I know I've already done a post on Maybelline Baby Lips, but I couldn't resist buying yet another one from the collection, and to be honest, who can blame me? The packaging is adorable and I love the hydrating and moisturised feel they leave on your lips. So, when I took a recent trip to Boots, I decided to add Peach Kiss, Intense Care and Hydrate to my ever expanding collection. The sad thing about this collection in particular is that there is only one more for me left to get. Luckily, they were on 3 for 2 so I couldn't stop myself from purchasing them again.
Hydrate and Intense Care are both a clear lip balm that are supposed to leave your lips feeling smooth and feeling more refreshed and hydrated. Peach Kiss is a soft, shimmering peachy-pink colour and has fast become my go to for my everyday make-up. Peach Kiss is the colour I tend to reach for most out of all the different balms, I leave it in my bag for an everyday use.
Overall, I'm so happy that Maybelline decided to launch these in the UK. Can't wait for them to release more!
What do you make of the Baby Lips collection?
3 September 2013
So September is officially here and I'm actually really pleased. This is the first year I've actually wanted A/W to come. I'm just super excited to snuggle up in bed watching movies like Harry Potter (what else!?), draping fairy lights around my room and most importantly, the clothes. Oh yes, I can't wait. There are so many items that are just adorable and I just need (read, don't need) this Fall. One thing I'm excited about is returning to university, and of course to return to university, I need a brand new wardrobe (and a make-up collection to match).
This fall it's all about colours and patterns. Who can resist a maroon a-line skirt? Not me. And I'll certainly be finding one as soon as pay day comes round. But until that glorious moment comes round, I've created a wishlist to drool over.
First up, Real Techniques Core Collection brushes. Now I know I'm really behind with the whole Real Techniques hype but I've decided I simply can't go any longer without them in my life. My friends have been bangin' on about these for God knows how long and I've given in. I need them in my life!
YSL. Can we take a moment to appreciate the packaging please? Such a thing of beauty. This colour is perfect for fall because of the shade of pink it is, it's like a rich, deep plum and this is what fall is all about.
Oh my goodness... This Sleek palette is probably the prettiest palette I've seen in a long time. Just look at those shades! Normally I wouldn't go for such dark colours on my cheeks, I like a rosy glow but nothing too dramatic but seeing as it's nearing Christmas, I just can't resist it. It's gorgeous.
Now I saw this dress on River Island and just knew it was 'me'. You know you have that style and just know when somethings 'you'. You know? I adore this dress and the colours are perfect for fall season too. I also love the cute little necklace that's attached. What I don't love? The price tag. Boo hoo.
Bourjois is something that has been on my wishlist for a while now, I love the look of all of their products but haven't gotten round to trying any (I know, you haven't got to tell me, shame on me) but people have been going mad about these colour boost lip crayons lately and I just feel like I need to check out the hype. I do adore this colour though.
Last but not least, this tiny little eyeshadow, which is also by Bourjois. The thing is is that it is a tiny product, and it's £6.99. However, this isn't going to stop me from purchasing it! I wouldn't necessarily use it as an eyeshadow either, I would use it as a highlight. What can I say, I'm sold.
What have you got on your September wishlist?
7 May 2013
When my friend suggested going to Byron's for a spot of lunch, I have to admit, I was a bit hesitant. I'd heard of Byron's and seeing the prices (remember I'm a student) made me a little bit more hesitant. However, having read review on the place I was secretly eager to try! So we ventured inside and sat downstairs in the diner with a beautiful view (having decided that it was a bit too chilly and windy to sit on the terrace - sigh).
Having only six choices of burgers, I chose the 'Classic' whilst my friends chose the 'Byron' burger, and boy did the 'Byron' look good!
The staff were all extremely kind and were happy to help us in any way, the drinks were served ice cold and very quickly upon our arrival. Now we just have a chat and wait for our burgers.
The milk shakes were served in huge bucket-like cups and were devilishly delicious.
Now onto the burger. Wow. Just take a minute to appreciate how good this looks. It's insanely mouth-watering. The bun was crispy but not burnt and the meat was succulent and extremely tasty, making me happy with our decision to come and eat here. When ordering our burgers, the waiter told us how all the burgers were cooked on 'medium' unless asked otherwise, so I had mine 'medium well'. I prefer to have my meat darker, than still a little pink.
The waiter made sure we were happy with our food, asking if it was cooked to our liking and if we weren't pleased with what we had, it would be cooked again.
The burger came with lettuce, onion, mayonnaise and tomatoes.. The perfect burger recipe in my books.
And the fries were cooked to perfection, they were crispy and fluffy. The waiter had no problem with us complaining about the fries!
Overall, the food was heavenly. I'm a huge burger fan and was delighted to have dined here! The burger was utter perfection, I can't find no fault with it! Next time, I'm trying the desserts!
Have you ever tried Byron's burgers?
P.s ~ sorry about picture quality.. It was fine when I was editing this post! Now the qualities dipped!
